Carmelo Anthony traded to Thunder

It appears the long festering and inevitable breakup between the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony has finally been put out of its misery. That is because earlier today the Knicks agreed to send the 10-time all-star to the Oklahoma City Thunder to join forces with fellow stars, Paul George and reigning MVP Russell Westbrook.. In exchange for Anthony, the Thunder will receive center Enes Canter, forward Doug McDermott and a 2018 second-round pick (from the Chicago Bulls in the deal last season that brought in Taj Gibson and McDermott).

To facilitate the deal, Melo will waive his no-trade clause( which will he will still have with the Thunder) as well as his $8.1 million trade kicker.

The trade will be finalized with a call to the league office Monday.
