Colin Kaepernick’s company filed trademark for image of his face and hair

According to Darren Rovell of espn.com, last Friday Colin Kaepernick’s company,Inked Flash, filed a trademark. Apparently the trademark was for a black and white image of the former 49ers quarterback’s face and hair. Rovell further indicates the company plans on using the image on such products as jewelry and shampoo.

The filing also stated it could be used in association with “production of television shows and films. As Kaepernick made plenty of news when he sat and then kneeled during the national anthem in protesting systematic racism and the killing of black people by police, it is noteworthy that the filing stated the image can be used in “providing classes, workshops, seminars and camps in the field of self empowerment and awareness to properly interact with law enforcement.
