Nike Zoom Kobe IV Protro to release February 15

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV is the next shoe in the Kobe line to get “protroed”, following in the outsoles of the Zoom Kobe 1 Protro. For those who may not be aware, the protro line is a combination of retro styling with updated performance.

The Kobe IV Protro retains the aesthetic of its 2009 forefather but features updated performance aspects such as an adjusted vamp shape, sleeker heel and wider outsole traction.

The first colorway will be a draft day colorway, inspired by the Charlotte Hornets, the ballclub that originally drafted Kobe. It features a white upper with leather at the toebox and heel collar with synthetic material with flywire spanning the midfoot. Purple shows up on the Kobe logo on the tongue, and on the Swoosh that is on the lateral and medial sides of the shoe, while teal is found bordering the aforementioned swoosh, the heel counter and inner lining. On the heel is “6.26.96”, which is the date of the 1996 NBA Draft in which Kobe was taken.

A white midsole and and teal and white rubber outsole completes the look of this shoe.

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV Protro releases February 15 at nike.com, SNKRS North America and a select Nike Basketball retailers around the globe.
