Derrick Rose out at least eight weeks after ankle procedure

Wednesday evening the New York Knicks announced that guard Derrick Rose had successfully undergone surgery on his injured right ankle. Rose suffered the injury December 16 against the Houston Rockets and it also sidelined him for the club’s next two ballgames. Thought the initial announcement has him out at least eight weeks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski there is hope that the former league MVP could be back closer to six weeks. Derrick Rose has continued his quality play with another outstanding performance, this time in 106-100 win against the Los Angeles Clippers. Rose scored 25 on 11/17 FG in a variety of ways, from forays to the hoop reminiscent of his pre-injury Chicago days, to utilising one of his newest weapons, the three-point shot. DRose also collected 6 rebounds, 8 assists and a steal.

According to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, the Knicks would get Rose and the Pistons would receive Dennis Smith fr and draft compensation. Over the past year plus it seems that Derrick Rose has re-discovered his prodigious ability to play high level basketball. It appears that he has confidence in his body, his game and himself. Rose is averaging 15.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 5.7 assists in just 23.5 minutes per contest. After scoring 15 of his 21 points , including the game-winner, in the fourth quarter Derrick Rose dropped this immediately after the game: No arguments here. Rumble young man, rumble.
