This special-edition of CJ McCollum’s Li-Ning YuShuai XIII is inspired by the off-target shooting foot soldiers of the Empire, the Stormtrooper. It sported a synthetic white upper with Li-Ning branding on the lateral and medial sides. A really cool visual feature, which shows an attention to detail, is the black areas around the collar and ankle rear are oriented to look like the troopers helmet. Jimmy Butler signs with Li-Ning

Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has signed a multiyear signature shoe deal with Chinese brand Li-Ning, according to Nick DePaula of ESPN. DePaula adds that Butler will become the face of the brand, which also has a lifetime deal with Butler’s friend and former teammate, Dwyane Wade. Specific monetary terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Should Las Vegas Aces forward Tamera be fined for rocking Dwyane Wade’s Way of Wade sneakers on the court, Wade said he’d pick up the bill. Aaron Dodson of The Undefeated, tweeted Young wore the shoes in the Aces’ August 7 game against the Atlanta Dream. The WNBA, in a move of brilliance, warned her she would be fined $500 if she wears them again since she she doesn’t have a deal with the brand.
