Basketball great Maya Moore officially announces retirement

Via the Associated Press Maya Moore has officially decided to retire from playing basketball. The Minnesota Lynx great stepped away from the WNBA in 2019 to help her now-husband Jonathan Irons win his release from jail by getting his 50-year sentence overturned in 2020. After gaining his release, Irons married Moore soon after and the couple had their first child, Jonathan Jr., in July. This Air Jordan XXXI was created as a birthday gift for Minnesota Lynx star and Jordan Brand athlete Maya Moore and its derives it color from red velvet cake. The toe is burgundy and fades to white before meeting the burgundy leather that wraps around the heel, where a silver tinted Jumpman calls home. The burgundy swoosh on the shoe also follows the fading pattern on the upper.  Moore’s stylized “MM” logo is placed on the tongue. A white midsole sits atop a burgundy outsole completes this sneaker’s look.
