Virginia Union falls to Queens University of Charlotte 92-72

Virginia Union University’s Demarius Pitts scored a team-high 17 points, but 25th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte defeated the Panthers 92-72 on Monday, December 3, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Pitts hit seven of 16 shots from the field including a three-pointer.

VUU’s Raemaad Wright scored in double-figures for the first time in his collegiate career by adding 11 points in the game.

Virginia Union’s Will Jenkins scored 10 points while tying Wright in leading the team with five rebounds apiece.

VUU’s playmaker, Jemal Smith, dished off a team-high five assists.

The loss dropped Virginia Union to 3-4 on the season while Queens is now 8-2.

Virginia Union now travels to Orangeburg, S.C., to face CIAA newcomer Claflin University at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6.
