Albany State hosted the 2022 Alice Coachman Invitational on April 9. More than 500 athletes from nineteen team took part in the competition, with several performances that led to spots in the medal stands. “Volt” Air Jordan 1 High OG coming in June

This upcoming Air Jordan i High OG is apparently in Jordan Brand’s summer release quiver. It sports a sail foundational layer overlaid with volt at the eyerow, toe and wrapping the heel, while also underlaid with the same material surrounding the ankle. Black leather Swooshes adorn the lateral and medial sides, with the same hue present at the Wings logo, inner and the laces. SIAC announces 2022 Tennis All-Conference Honorees

Savannah State’s Gabrielle Benn has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Year and headlines the 2022 All-SIAC Team.  The honors, announced Saturday, were determined by votes from the league’s head coaches and sports information directors. Esperance Follykoue of Benedict, earned this year’s Freshman of the Year honors, while Clark Atlanta’s head coach, Tara Turner, was named Coach of the Year. Albany State splits first two with Fort Valley

The Golden Rams softball team split with the Fort Valley State University Wildcats on Saturday, April 9.  The Golden Rams are now 29-4 (13-2 in the SIAC) while the Wildcats are 10-22 (3-11 in the SIAC). In game #1, the Golden Rams lost (6-5).  The Golden Rams led 5-2 going into the bottom of the 7th inning.  But, the Wildcats exploded for 4 runs in the inning to upset the Golden Rams.  Alera Buie scored when Hailey Bracey singled in the bottom of the 7th inning to win the game for the Wildcats.  Glory Seay hit a…

Prior to arriving in Albany, Atwell spent the past two seasons as the defensive coordinator at New Mexico Highlands University. Albany State comes up short in SIAC Semis

The Albany State tennis team will not be playing for a shot at the conference title, as they were defeated in their semi-final match with the Tigers of Savannah State, 5-2. In singles competition, Bianca Leao and Sumana Panauganti claimed victory in their matches, while in doubles play, Leao and Panaugouti won their match, (6-3). Up next for the now 17-6 Golden Rams is the consolation game against Clark-Atlanta. That and the title match between no.1 Benedict and no.3 Savannah State are both scheduled for 10 AM EST.
