Charleston and William & Mary locked in the remaining two spots among the top four teams to receive a double-bye into the quarterfinals following Saturday’s slate, joining Towson and UNCW. Tennessee State closes out regular season with 74-69 win over Southern Illinois

Tennessee State finished the regular season on a high note with a nearly wire-to-wire 74-69 defeat of Southern Illinois.  Southern Illinois took an early 3-0 lead on Ryan Hall’s three-pointer on the Screaming Eagles and the contest’s opening possession. Following a Travis Harper II connection from downtown that knotted the game at 3, USI reclaimed the lead when Jack Campion’s layup pushed the Screaming Eagles back in front 5-3. Tennessee State women’s hoops headed to OVC Tournament after 73-64 defeat of Southern Illinois

With the potential to play in the OVC Tournament still in play, the Lady Tigers of Tennessee State were able to defeat Southern Illinois 73-64 and secure the final spot in the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.  The opening minutes of the first quarter saw a pair of ties and five lead changes before Lyric Cole’s jumper put TSU up 8-6 at the 6:52 mark of the frame.
