Vince Carter agrees to 1-year deal with Hawks

Vinsanity is not over just yet.

That is because the Atlanta Hawks and the ageless Vince Carter agreed on a one year deal at the veteran’s minimum of $2.4 million Wednesday, according to Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania.

Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks want the 41-year old Carter “around its young locker room, which has youngsters like John Collins and lottery pick Trae Young.

Though he is on the other side of 40, it does not appear the R-word (retirement) is not at the forefront of his mind. He had this to say to Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee:

“I’ve worked extra hard just to be able to last because I love this game. It’s not a money thing. Obviously you want to be compensated for what you bring to the table, I get that, but it’s not the end of the world. I put the extra work in, whatever the case may be to be able to do this, to play games, to compete.”
