90,000 workers strike at factories that produce Nike and Adidas Footwear

Workers at a Taiwanese factory in Ho Chi Minh City vowed to strike for a sixth day over a Vietnamese government pension-policy change as officials moved to quell the nation’s worst labor unrest since May’s anti-China riots.

As many as 90,000 workers at the Vietnamese subsidiary of Pou Chen Corp. went on strike last week, VnExpress reported Tuesday. The company makes footwear for Nike Inc. and Adidas AG, according to its website.
