Adidas will buy out John Wall

In life, sometimes you should not revisit relationships, because doing so can be a sobering reminder of why the union ended in the first place.

It seems that Adidas and John Wall have had to learn that lesson the hard and expensive, for Adidas anyway. According to Nick DePaula of ESPN, the two are seeking a buyout agreement. Apparently this step is being undertaken due to his injury keeping him out for an extended period of time.

Wall and Adidas had previous run from 2013-15 that produced two signature models after the latter took over from their subsidiary Reebok. When the two sides were unable to come to terms on an extension in the fall of 2015, Wall would spend the next two years without a sneaker deal.

Wall re-signed with Adidas in January of 2018 and only played 32 games that season. He will likely miss all of the 2019-20 season with a torn Achilles he suffered back in February. These injuries have kept Wall off the court, which has limited his visibility in Adidas products. This seems to be the driving factor in Adidas looking to get out of the this deal.

Way to stay classy and stand by one of your guys when they are down.
