Albany State’s women basketball signs first for ‘19-20 class

ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State University women’s basketball has signed Colorado native Yolanda Fason as its first incoming freshman for the 2019-2020 season, head coach Robert Skinner announced.

Fason, a 5-foot-11 forward for Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, Colorado, is averaging 5.0 points and 5.3 rebounds so far in her senior campaign. She has also competed for the Colorado Lady Swoosh AAU team, where she averaged 7.2 points and shot 52 percent from the field. 

“Yolanda is a very complete player, that can play several different positions for the Lady Rams,” Skinner said. “Her background and experience will play an important part in our future success.  She is also and excellent student who should excel in the classroom as well.”

Albany State is currently 3-9 with a 2-2 SIAC mark at the time of the mid-year signing period.
