Andre Iguodala’s MRI comes back clean, expected to play in Game 2

When Andre Iguodala came up lame late in game 1, there was serious concern that this was a serious injury. As it was a non-contact incident, the worst was thought.

Iguodala finished the game and minimized the severity of the injury saying “I’ll be fine,” after the game, as reported by the Mercury News’ Mark Medina.

A subsequent MRI came back clean, as reported by The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.

Though the Warriors are blessed with an abundance of talent, the 35-year-old veteran’s presence is important and has been felt when he has been out of the lineup. This was most clearly seen in last year’s Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets, where is absence was one of the reasons that series even went to a seventh game.

He can initiate the offense, knock down the occasional three and even at his age, still is a more than capable defender.
