Blazers’ Enes Kanter (shoulder) uncertain for Conference Semis

According to the AP, Portland Trail Blazers center Enes Kanter has a separated his shoulder and his status for the Western Conference semifinals remains uncertain.

The big man had this to say about his shoulder and how the team is treating it:

“I think the Blazers are doing a very good job taking care of it. But, I mean obviously, I’m not going to lie, it hurts pretty bad. I mean I’m having a hard time changing my shirt or eating food. So it’s a process. We’re just taking it day by day, see how it feels.”

He was shooting at the Blazers practice on Friday but was also sighted rubbing the shoulder, seemingly in some degree of discomfort.

Kanter was signed by the club in February when he was finally bought out by the Knicks after essentially falling out of their lineup ,as they were in full tanking for Zion mode.

In the 23 games he has played for Portland, he has averaged 13.1 points and 8.6 rebounds.

With the loss of Jusuf Nurkic for the year , Kanter was thrust into the starting lineup and was playing a substantial role for the team. With Kanter potentially sidelined, Meyers Leonard, Zach Collins and Al-Farouq Aminu will be tasked to fill those frontcourt minutes.
