Bulls trade Justin Holiday to Grizzlies for Seldon, Brooks and picks

As the NBA season progresses there will emerge teams that ,around the trade deadline, will emerge as buyers or sellers.

With their 10-28 ( and now on Zion watch or RJ watch) the Chicago Bulls would definitely fall into the seller category. They let that be known by trading Justin Holiday to the Memphis Grizzlies for Marshon Brooks, Wayne Seldon and a second round pick in 2019 and 2020.

According to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, Brooks doesn’t need to plan for an extended stay in the Windy City.

The move will allow for more minuted for rookie Chandler Hutchison who Bulls coach for the time being Jim Boylen has been high on as of late.

Seldon who seemed to be moving toward the end of the Memphis rotation playing only 14.2 minutes per contest and averaging 5.4 points. He will now have the chance to battle for more minutes on the wing. He may add value to the second unit, as they have trouble scoring, particularly in the half-court offense.

Holiday is averaging 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 34.9 minutes per contest. Though he is only shooting 38.3 from the floor, he is still shooting the three at 35.9 percent and he can help a Memphis team that struggles for baskets at times.

It appears the Bulls are not done making moves. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski indicates the Bulls plan on waiving a player , which will be guard Cameron Payne and according to K.C. Johnson, the team is also looking to move Jabari Parker and Robin Lopez.
