Something unique most people wouldn’t know about you:

“Something unique that most people don’t know about me is that I had no intentions on going to college for track. I never had an athletic background up until my sophomore year of high school when I decided to try out for the track team. When I first started, I wasn’t even able to run a lap without getting tired now I’m a distance runner who runs multiple laps, which is quite unexpected for someone who never thought about sports in general.”

Your goals or plans after finishing school:

“Something utilizing my degree in political science”

Your greatest inspiration:

“Judge Judy”

What do you love the most about being a student-athlete your school?

“What I appreciate the most about being a student athlete at Virginia State is the equality. At Virginia State University, I’m surrounded by many people with similar backgrounds and cultural experiences. I don’t feel like just another number at the university I feel like I am a part of a family. At VSU, I am afforded many different opportunities to improve myself physically, mentally, and academically. Being a student-athlete has allowed me to be a part of different seminars that discuss issues such as athlete activism, mental health, sexual assault, prescription drug abuse, and how to properly present ourselves on the track and in the real world. I’ve been blessed to encounter the best coaches, teammates, and instructors that have helped mold me into the student-athlete I am today.”
