Damion Lee agrees to return to Warriors with two-way deal

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, shooting guard Damion Lee has agreed to a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors.

Warriors head coach was complementary of Lee, telling reporters back in April,”I think he belongs in the NBA. He’s proven that, and he’s helped us win games.”

Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Warriors had a two-way offer for Lee since July, but he did not sign it immediately in the hopes of securing a guaranteed roster spot somewhere else.

In between the back and forth between the Warriors and their G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, Lee still managed to play in 32 games for the big club averaging 4.9 points and shooting 39.7 percent from downtown in 11.9 minutes per appearance.

With the changes the team has undergone- the departure of Kevin Durant, trading of Andre Iguodala and the ACL injury suffered by Klay Thompson , means there is the opportunity for Lee to have an increased role and if he can replicate or improve on his 54.8 effective field percentage on catch-and-shoot opportunities with the Warriors, then he makes the case for him to see more time in a Golden State gamer rather than a Santa Cruz one.
