DeMarcus Cousins’ Quad Injury Diagnosed as Tear

According to reports from The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, the leg injury that Demarcus Cousins suffered last night in the Warriors’ shocking game 2 loss was a torn left quadriceps muscles.

Charania also adds that Cousins and the team will see how the injury responds to two weeks of rehab since he does not need surgery before they will have to officially rule him out for the remainder of the playoffs.

It is another tough break for Cousins, who was seeing his first postseason action of his career this season. Last season he tore his Achilles in January 2018 and missed the Pelicans’ run to the second round.

He posted averages of 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds in his 30 regular season appearances. With big man Damian Jones already lost for the season , Kevon Looney will be asked to do more in the middle and Andrew Bogut, who signed as an insurance policy, will also now be called upon to play a more prominent role.
