Derrick Rose traded to Knicks (again)

For the second time in his career, Derrick Rose will be a New York Knick. According to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, the Knicks would get Rose and the Pistons would receive Dennis Smith fr and draft compensation.

This is the second time the Knicks made a move to acquire the former MVP. Back in 2016 they acquired Rose , Justin Holiday and 2016 second round pick from the Bulls in exchange for Robin Lopez, Jose Calderon, and Jerian Grant. The fact that the Knicks had four point guards on their roster(Smith Jr, Frank Ntilikina, Austin Rivers and rookie Immanuel Quickley) considering Tom Thibadeau is their head coach this move is not all that surprising. When this was the head man in Minnesota he signed Rose when no one else would and there were serious questions about if his career was over While a Timberwolf Rose became more than a marginally productive player, including a 50-point outburst that was reminiscent of his former self. As Thibs has a penchant for bringing brought in his former Bulls players from his time in Chicago, Joakim Noah and Luol Deng, the calls are coming.
