FAMU’s Stanley and Young garner MEAC weekly honors

From FAMU Sports Information:

NORFOLK, Va. | Florida A&M University quarterback Ryan Stanley and tight end Kamari Young picked up Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) weekly honors, the conference announced on Monday.

Stanley, who broke Quinn Gray’s career passing mark against South Carolina State on Saturday, was tabbed the Co-Offensive Player of the Week, while Young, who caught the game-winning touchdown against the Bulldogs, earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Stanley broke the school’s mark for career passing yards in the Rattlers’ 42-38 win over South Carolina State in the first quarter. He threw for a career-high 427 yards in that game, completing 30 of 49 passes with three touchdowns.

Young caught two passes in Saturday’s win over South Carolina State, including the 19-yard game-winning pass from Stanley with just over a minute remaining to snap the Rattlers’ 14-game losing streak to the Bulldogs.

Florida A&M, which received votes in the STATS FCS Top 25 and FCS Coaches Poll, plays host to No. 10/11 North Carolina A&T State on Saturday. Kickoff from Bragg Memorial Stadium is set for 6 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN3.
