FAMU’s Yahia Aly garners MEAC weekly honors

NORFOLK, Va. |Florida A&M redshirt senior kicker Yahia Aly was selected the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Aly, who also was named National Special Teams Player of the Week Honorable Mention by STATS FCS on Monday, had a huge game for Florida A&M, going 3-for-3 on extra point attempts and 3-for-3 on field goals. He made field goals of 30, 37 and 52 yards. His 52-yard field goal is the second-longest in program history.


Florida A&M returns home on Saturday, Oct. 5 with a homecoming matchup against North Carolina Central. Kickoff against the Eagles is set for 2 p.m.from Bragg Memorial Stadium and the game can be viewed live on ESPN3.
