Houston Rockets trade Chinanu Onuaku to Dallas Mavericks

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Houston Rockets have traded forward Chinanu Onuaku and cash considerations to the Dallas Mavericks. The Rockets gained the right to swap second round picks in 2020.

The former Louisville star was taken by the Rockets in 2016 with the 37th overall pick. He has appeared in just 6 games for the club and has spent the bulk of his two seasons in the developmental league with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers where he posted numbers of 10.8.9.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per contest on 59.8% shooting from the field.

By moving Onuaku, creates a trade exception worth $1,544,951, which is the amount he would have made this season. Dallas will take on Onuaku’s contract using their remaining cap space.
