BALTIMORE, Md. (January 16, 2021) — Junior guard De’Torrion Ware had a game-high 29 points as Morgan State rolled past Coppin State 92-72 on Saturday at Hill Field House. Senior Troy Baxter added 22 points for the Bears, while junior Malik Miller chipped in 21 points.
Ware, who posted 30 points at Norfolk State on Jan. 20, continued his hot shooting by converting 9-for-16 from the field, 3-of-8 from beyond the arc, and 8-for-11 from the free throw line.
Baxter also had a season-high 12 rebounds and a career-high six blocks, while Miller posted 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Senior Lagio Grantsaan had 10 points for Morgan State (6-3, 2-1 MEAC).

Norfolk State 87, Delaware State 76
DOVER, Del. – Sophomore Tyrese Jenkins connected on five shots from beyond the arc and tallied a career-high 21 points to lead the Norfolk State men’s basketball team to an 87-76 win over Delaware State on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Hall.
He shot 5-of-6 from deep as NSU finished with a season-high 13 3-pointers. He made four in the second half as Norfolk State put away a pesky Delaware State team that stayed within single digits until the very end.
Junior Joe Bryant Jr. also made four 3-pointers in the second half, part of a 15-point effort as he made 4-of-6 from deep for the contest. As a team, the Spartans shot 13-of-23 from 3-point range. Thanks to those eight second-half treys on just 12 attempts, they finished with 49 points after halftime.

North Carolina A&T 112, Carver College 46
EAST GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T men’s basketball team defeated the Carver Cougars, 112-46, on Saturday evening inside the Corbett Sports Center in non-conference action.
N.C. A&T head coach Will Jones and his staff scheduled the game during the week after their original two contests against Florida A&M planned for Saturday and Sunday got postponed.
“It was good to be playing,” said Jones. “We were the only team on our side of the division to be able to play tonight, and I thought it was important to try to keep our guys on a normal routine and get a game in this week.”
It was a record-setting offensive onslaught for the Aggies (6-9, 2-0 MEAC) from the tip. Sophomore Fred Cleveland, Jr. scored a season-high 17 points. Senior guard Darus Maddox notched a new career-high with 16 points.
Fifteen different Aggie players scored during the contest, and as a team, N.C. A&T shot 62.1 percent from the field and 60 percent from 3-point range.
