BALTIMORE, Md. — 
Ja’Niah Henson poured in a game-high 19 points to lead four Morgan State players in double figures on Sunday afternoon as the Lady Bears defeated Howard 71-58 in Hill Field House to split the weekend series.

The Lady Bears improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in MEAC play on the season.

Henson was 6-for-13 from the floor and made six of her eight free throws, while also recording three assists and three steals. Dahnye Redd added 15 points and nine rebounds, while Adia Brisker had 12 points off the bench and Sydney Searcy added 11.

Iyanna Warren and Anzhane Hutton had 18 and 17 points, respectively, for Howard (5-2, 1-1 MEAC).

North Carolina A&T State 102, Averett 36

GREENSBORO, N.C. — 
Six North Carolina A&T State women’s basketball players scored in double figures as the Aggies led from start to finish in a 102-36 win over Averett Sunday afternoon at Corbett Sports Center.

The Aggies scheduled the game on Thursday after their two games with South Carolina State planned for this weekend were rescheduled for next weekend because of contact tracing for COVID-19.

Senior forward Deja Winters led the Aggies with her second consecutive 20-plus point performance, as she scored 21 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the floor. She added seven rebounds, two assists and four steals.

Freshman guard D’Mya Tucker scored a career-high 16 points on 6-for-7 shooting from the floor and added a game-high six steals to go along with five rebounds and five assists. Sophomore guard Shayla Nelson added a career-high 14 points and a game-high and career-high nine rebounds.
