Jrue Holiday will be out with abdominal strain; to be re-evaluated in 7-10 days

The injury bug has kicked the New Orleans Pelicans in the tooshie again. The ballclub announced earlier today that guard E’Twaun Moore will be out at least 7-10 days with a left quadriceps tendon he has been battling and now it appears they will be without point guard Jrue Holiday for at least that same amount of time.

Holiday suffered a lower abdominal strain in the team’s loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. After being plagued by injuries earlier in his career, he has enjoyed good health over the past two seasons, as he has only missed one game over that period of time. It is certainly of note that his ascendance to, and remaining at an All-Star level has coincided with his remaining healthy.

Although the Pelicans will sorely miss his 21.2 points, 7.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game, with the Pelicans out of playoff contention, the team will likely not rush Holiday back.
