Kawhi Leonard sues Nike over logo

Kawhi Leonard and Jordan Brand parted ways back in 2018. He subsequently signed an endorsement deal with the Boston Massachusetts based company. I’m sure he thought his dealings with Nike and Jordan Brand were done, at least for the foreseeable future but that is not the case they will be seeing each other again- in court.

According the Portland Business Journal’s Matthew Kish, Leonard is suing Nike.

The federal lawsuit claims that the Beaverton, Oregon based athletic company they copyrighted his logo without his consent.

The nine page lawsuit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court in Southern California, claims the logo is an extension of a design he began early in his college career and that he gave Nike permission to use the logo on “certain merchandise” when he was signed with them. The suit further claims that Nike Copyrighted the logo with out his consent.
