“Ditalion is an extremely talented player and in recruiting him, we expected that he would be a player to earn honors such as this,” said Kentucky State University head coach Jamaal Jackson. “He has a bright future and we’re proud of him.”

Battle (Cincinnati, OH) was named first team All-American, becoming the first KSU All-American since Kenny Jones in 2008. He is one of six Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players honored by BoxToRow. The guard is the fourth All-American coached by Jackson.

In addition to the national All-American honor, Battle earned all-South Region honors by the Division II College Commissioners Association.

He earned first team All-SIAC honors after leading the conference in scoring with 19.3 points per game, which is more than a point higher than the SIAC’s second leading scorer. Battle connected on 3.1 three-pointers per game, tying him for the SIAC lead. He was ranked amongst conference leaders in several categories; fourth in assist to turnover ratio (1.5), eighth in assists (3.3), 11th in steals (1.5) and 14th in three-point percentage (.359).

Kentucky State finished the season 13-14 after falling in the first round of the SIAC Tournament.
