Lebron James’s free agency decision will not be a quick one

All season long there has been specualtion and hypothesis posed about where Mr. Lebron James would lace them up for the 2018-19 season and beyond. It seemed as some of the sports media talking heads an pundit could not wait for the final buzzer to sounds on the Finals to ramp up their Lebron destination speculation. It was almost as if they saw the finals as obstacle to engage in the discussion without being hindered by having to cover a championship series.

It appears they are going to get to bask in where Mr. James will play next season even longer than they hoped , as it appears that James, and he should not be, is not in a rush to make his decision.

Despite possible indications that this will not a decision that will be made on the “spur” of the moment, according to a report from Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon, representatives for Lebron James have been in contact with the Cavaliers.

From Vardon’s report:

‘The Cavaliers will not know what LeBron James intends to do this summer when they execute their NBA draft plan Thursday, numerous sources told cleveland.com.

According to sources, the Cavs’ front office and James’ camp have been in contact over the phone and in person, though there has been no meeting with James present, nor has the been any real dialogue as far as James’ future is concerned.”

Although James has a $35.6 million player option for the upcoming season, the prevailing thought is that he will opt out to explore free agency and likely end his second stint in Cleveland.

There are undoubtedly a plethora of teams that will be suitors for Mr. James’ services and where he lands could cause a seismic shift in the NBA oncourt landascape.
