From Lincoln University Athletics:

Nine Lincoln University student-athletes earned a 4.0 grade point average for the 2020 fall semester as the athletic department improved its cumulative GPA over the 3.0 mark for the first time as a Division II program.

Eighty-four percent of the teams (11 of 13) recorded team grade point averages of 3.0 or higher. The women’s basketball team led the department with a 3.42 GPA in the fall semester, followed by men’s cross country (3.332) and women’s track & field (3.307).

“What a tremendous accomplishment for our student-athletes, coaches, and support services area to acquire one of our goals, a 3.0 cumulative grade point average,” said Director of Athletics and Recreational Services Harry Stinson III. “Our students continue to rise to the occasion and persevere over any obstacle. They are redefining what a minority scholar-athlete is defined as and I’m so happy to lead the charge and provide resources to ensure they succeed on and off the court!”

The baseball program had the most student-athletes with the perfect GPA with three – Damaal-Jordan Sands, Pedro Martinez-Soto, and Kendall Bonner. Women’s cross country/track & field had two student-athletes – Kayla Tisdale and Keyana Brooks – achieve a 4.0. The other student-athletes with the perfect GPA’s are Sequoia Rantin (volleyball), Obinna Ihejirika (men’s cross country/track & field), Cedar Davidson (women’s soccer), and Charles Trabi (football).

In all 154 student-athletes recorded at least a 3.0 GPA in the fall semester, including 71 who earned at least a 3.5 GPA.
