MRI for Draymond Green comes back clean, no timetable for his return

Golden State Warriors All-Star forward has been dealing with knee soreness over the past few days. The rash of recent injuries- to players like the Dallas Mavericks’ Harrison Barnes, who’s tweaked hamstring has him ” expected to be out ” a while and the Chicago Bulls’ Lauri Markkanen out six to eight weeks with an elbow strain and guard Zach LaVine suffering a thigh contusion- will likely lead the Warriors to be cautious with bringing their Swiss Army knife forward back. To bolster that point, the team does not have an exact timeline for his return. Warriors coach Steve Kerr had this to say to  NBC Sports Bay Area about Draymond’s status:

The right knee soreness that Draymond Green experienced Tuesday, keeping him out of Warriors practice, lingered into Wednesday and likely will keep him off the court for the rest of the week.

“Just being careful,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after practice. “He still had a little inflammation this morning.”

An MRI test on the knee was clean, according to Kerr, who at this time doesn’t consider this to be a long-term problem.

It is a positive sign for Green and the Warriors that the MRI was clean but the fact remains the cause for the inflammation has not been determined, which should still be a cause for concern.
