NBL22 : Brisbane signs Jack Salt

From nbl.com.au:

The Brisbane Bullets have confirmed the signing of New Zealander, Jack Salt, for season 2021/22.

Salt has spent the past two seasons playing for the Canterbury Rams, in the NZNBL. Prior to his time at Canterbury, Salt attended and played for the University of Virginia (2014 -19) and also had a stint with the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League competition.

The 25-year-old has had a disruptive past couple of years due to injury that halted his development but after consistent court time, Salt and the Bullets know the time is right to make the step into the NBL.

“I’m super excited about the opportunity and am looking forward to getting to Brisbane,” Salt said.

“I’ve had an interesting journey to this point but I really like where I’m at right now. The NBL is a great League and I know this is the right move for me, in my continuing development.

“I’m the type of player who loves to get in there and do the hard work, doing everything I can to get the win.

“I can’t wait to get over there (to Australia) and get to work.”

GM of Basketball, Sam Mackinnon, is looking forward to seeing Salt suit up for the Bullets next season.

“Jack has had a very impressive career to date and we’re excited to see him play for the club,” Mackinnon said.

“He is a big figure and he will definitely play a key role as part of the rotation.

“Whilst he’s had some injury concerns in the past, he has been playing well and has definitely earned this opportunity.”

Salt joins the already signed Jason Cadee, Anthony Drmic, Tyrell Harrison, Tanner Krebs, Nathan Sobey and Tamuri Wigness as members of the Brisbane Bullets squad for NBL22.
