North Carolina A&T State is the undisputed king of the men’s 4×400-meter relay.

The Aggies won the outdoor NCAA title in the event Friday evening at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field, adding to the indoor championship they won in the event back in March. NCAT won the race in 3:00.92, with Daniel Stokes, Randolph Ross, Akeem Sirleaf and Trevor Stewart running.

NCAT was sixth after the first leg, but Ross — who earlier in the evening won the NCAA title in the 400 meters — stormed to the lead before handing off to Sirleaf. Both he and Stewart held the lead to the end.

Thanks in large part to two national titles — the program’s first two outdoors — North Carolina A&T State finished third in the team standings with 35 points, behind champion LSU and Oregon.

The 2021 NCAA Div. I Outdoor Track & Field Championships conclude Saturday with the women’s finals. North Carolina A&T State will look to add even more hardware, with finalists in the 4×100-meter relay, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles.

ESPNU will have live coverage starting at 6 p.m. ET. Live results can be viewed here.
