BALTIMORE — DeAndre Harris passed for 218 yards and one touchdown and scored the game-winner on a keeper from the 1 as Morgan State upset North Carolina A&T for the second year in a row, 22-16 on Saturday.

North Carolina A&T, No. 14 in the STATS FCS Top 25, never led during the game, but trailed just 16-13 through much of the fourth quarter. The loss put the Aggies (6-3, 4-2) in a three-team cluster with Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State atop the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Florida A&M is unbeaten in league play, but ineligible for the title.

Harris guided Morgan State (2-8, 2-5) 91 yards in 13 plays, scoring from the 1 for the insurance TD with 3:27 left to play.

N.C. A&T answered with a Noel Ruiz field goal and then recovered an onside kick at its own 46 with 1:20 remaining. But Kylil Carter threw three incompletions and was sacked by Rico Kennedy for a 7-yard loss, turning final possession over to the Bears.

Manasseh Bailey caught a touchdown pass and had 118 yards, moving him into a fifth-place tie on Morgan State’s career receiving list 1,802 yards.

Dover, Del. (Nov. 9, 2019) — Delaware State’s defense turned in its best performance of the season and Thomas Bertrand-Hudon rushed for a career-best 133 yards and a touchdown to lead the Hornets to a 16-13 upset of MEAC co-leader Bethune-Cookman at Alumni Stadium this afternoon.

DSU led 16-0 before holding off a late Wildcat charge to snap a seven-game losing streak and improved to 2-28 overall and 1-6 in the MEAC. Norfolk State 28, North Carolina Central 21

DURHAM, N.C. – Visiting Norfolk State registered eight sacks, one leading to a momentum-swinging touchdown in the third quarter, as the Spartans came away with a 38-21 win over North Carolina Central on Saturday afternoon at O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium.

Juwan Carter passed for 249 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a score in another efficient performance for NSU (4-6, 3-3 MEAC), which won its second straight game and for the third time in the last four games. It was also the Spartans’ second straight win over NCCU (4-6, 3-3) in Durham.

Coming off their first shutout since 2012 in last week’s win over Morgan State, the Spartan defense harassed NCCU quarterback Davius Richards to the tune of eight sacks – a feat which no Spartan team had accomplished since that same 2012 season, in a win over Morgan State. One sack, by senior end Ricky Thomas Jr., resulted in a fumble by Richard that De’Shaan Dixon returned 5 yards for a touchdown and a 31-14 Spartan lead with 5:48 left in the third quarter.

NSU led by at least 17 the rest of the way.
