12. December 17,1997 v the Chicago Bulls

This was a very highly anticipated game between the Lakers and Bulls. Although the Bulls were in control of the game from the opening tip, people got to see Kobe and MJ matchup a little bit and Kobe didn’t back down, finishing the evening with 33 points.

 

 

11. Kobe’s first 40 point game

March 12,2000  against the Sacramento Kings where Kobe made his first entrance into the 40 point club. He actually nearly notched a triple double, going for 40 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.

 

 

10. The night Kobe caught fire from downtown and set the record for 3pt makes

In a game against the then (and still should be) Seattle SuperSonics on January 7, 2003, Kobe knocked down his first 9 three-pointers. He would finish 12-18 from downtown, breaking the single game record of 11 set by Dennis Scott in 1996. Bryant finished the game with 45 points on 16-28 from the field.

 

 

9. The Ben Wallace dunk

After shaking Jimmie Oliver clear out of Nevada, he took a step into the lane and introduced himself to Ben Wallace by dropping the hammer on him.
