Portland’s Zach Collins has dislocated shoulder, MRI forthcoming

The Portland Trail Blazers were able to leave Dallas with a 121-119 victory but they did not make it out of town unscathed.

Zach Collins dislocated his left shoulder while battling for a rebounds late in the third quarter and did not return to the ballgame. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Collins will have an MRI Monday.

The third year big man out of Gonzaga was going to be called upon this season to play in a bigger role than in either of his first two seasons, with the only other big men on the roster that will see significant minutes, (until Josef Nurkic returns) being Hassan Whiteside and 39-year-old Pau Gasol.

Collins had been averaging 9.0 points and 4 rebounds so far this season. He had 10 points and 3 rebounds in his 24 minutes on the floor prior to being injured.
