PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Prairie View A&M athletics announced media availability for head football coach Eric Dooley on Monday ahead of the Labor Day Classic.
Dooley will begin the day with his weekly press conference at 10 a.m. in the Prairie View A&M Athletics Administration Building. Media members are invited to attend, as the second-year coach will be on hand to address questions for upcoming games as well as preseason preparations leading up to the season.
From there, Dooley will be available from 11:15 a.m. – 11:25 a.m. during the SWAC coaches’ weekly media teleconference. Media representatives who wish to participate should consult the SWAC Communications Office for details. A recording of each teleconference call will be available by the end of the business day Mondays through the conference media distribution list and by request.
Dooley concludes with attendance at the Texas Southern-hosted Labor Day Classic press conference at noon inside the BBVA Compass Stadium’s Audi Sport Club. He will be joined by PVAMU Interim Athletics Director Alicia Pete. Texas Southern head coach Clarence McKinney and TSU Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Kevin Granger will also be in attendance.
Both coaches will address the media regarding preparations for the annual rivalry during the conference, which will be emceed by WWE Hall of Famer and native Houstonian Booker T.
The Panthers are coming off a 5-6 (4-3 SWAC) season in Dooley’s maiden season at the helm and are eyeing a fifth-straight win over the Tigers. Last season, Prairie View A&M cruised to a 60-14 victory over Texas Southern, the largest margin of victory for the Panthers in series history. This will be the first Labor Day Classic for McKinney as TSU head coach.
The Labor Day Classic takes place August 31 at BBVA Compass Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. and the game will be shown on ESPN3. Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased at the PVAMU Athletics Administration Building’s ticket office.
