Seton Hall spanks FAMU 87-51

NEWARK, N.J. | Three Florida A&M University men’s basketball players reached double figures in scoring but it wasn’t enough as the Rattlers dropped an 87-51 decision to Seton Hall at the Prudential Center.

Kamron Reaves and Rod Melton, Jr. each finished with 12 points to pace the Rattlers (0-5). MJ Randolph tallied 11 points and nine boards.

Myles Powell paced Seton Hall (4-1) with 23 points, while Quincy McKnight added 14 points and five assists. Jared Rhoden registered a double-double of 12 rebounds and 10 points.

Inside the Numbers
> Florida A&M shot 29.3 percent (17-of-58) from the floor and 65.2 percent (15-of-23) from the charity stripe
> Seton Hall was 28-of-63 (44.4 percent) from the field and 23-of-31 (74.2 percent) from the foul line
> FAMU registered 38 rebounds, including 24 on the defensive glass
> Seton Hall pulled down 47 rebounds, with 33 coming on the defensive end
> The Rattlers finished with 17 points off 14 Pirate turnovers, 14 fastbreak points, 13 second-chance points, 12 points in the paint and six bench points
> The Pirates recorded 35 bench points, 34 points in the paint, 25 points off 20 FAMU turnovers, 15 second-chance points and 14 fastbreak points.
