Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: A pair of thieves steal thousands of dollars worth of sneakers from FL mall

Our never-ending accounting of sneakers fast tracking people down the path of mental ineptitude finds its way to Clearwater, Florida. It is here a pair of thieves engaged in a sneaker heist in a local mall.

According to police in a Facebook post, the two thieves lifted several thousand dollars worth of sneakers from a Champs Sports at Clearwater’s Westfield Countryside mall.

The crime took place in the early morning hours of Sunday August 5. The crooks entered the store by knocking out a section of drywall that was connected to a mall maintenance hallway.

The thieves apparently knew what they were after, as they only stole pairs of retro Air Jordan 12s, which retail for $190.

Anyone with information on this theft can call the Clearwater Police Department non-emergency number, 727-562-4242.
