Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: CT couple takes high priced sneakers in armed robbery

According to police in Fairfield, Connecticut a couple is accused of robbing a man who was trying to sell a pair of sneakers online. The victim made arrangements to sell a pair of Travis Scott Air Jordan 4 via Letgo for $500. On the afternoon of August 23, buyer arrived at the predetermined meeting location, the seller’s home, located in the 100 block of Melody’s Lane. Upon her arrival Freeman asked the seller to get in the backseat of her car ( which he actually agreed to for some reason). According to police, once inside, a male pointed a gun at the seller’s head and said, “Sneakers are mine, ( (expletive). The victim wisely decided to leave the sneakers on the seat and then exited the vehicle.

Despite just having a gun pointed at his head, the victim still had the wherewithal to get the license plate number and description of the vehicle, which was a silver Honda Accord. The victim even took to Facebook to track down the driver and reported all this information to police.

The plates led law enforcement to Shean Jordan Fernandez , 28, who was identified by the seller/victim as the gunman. Fernandez told police that his girlfriend, Michelle Chanais Freeman 31, was the driver. Further investigation revealed that it was Freeman’s OfferUp and Facebook accounts were used to set the meetings up.

Fernandez was charged with robbery and larceny and Freeman with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit larceny. Fernandez was released on a $100,000 bond and Freeman was releases on a $50,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in court September 3.
