Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: NJ sneaker seller robbed at gunpoint

The latest transaction for a New Jersey man saw him transformed from customer to complainant.

According to Captain Scott Buehler of the Montclair Police, the victim reported that he , through a mutual acquaintance, to meet in Nishuane Park at 11:00 p.m. with a male to purchase a pair of sneakers. Upon arrival, the suspect produced a sneaker box that, instead of the advertised footwear, contained rocks. The suspect subsequently brandished a silver revolver and demanded the agreed upon amount of the shoes, $350. The presence of the weapon compelled the victim to hand over the money.

The suspect, known only to the victim as “J” fled toward in the direction of Oak Street and Harrison Avenue.

As of the writing of this article, no arrests have been made.
