Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: Teen arrested for stealing Yeezys

Our continual narrative of how sneakers can cause people to lose the ability to make quality decisions takes us to Brooklyn,NY where two teens decided that the best way to get a pair of Adidas Yeezys was to merely steal a pair.

A 16-year-old an as yet-to-be identified accomplice arranged an 11:33 am meeting with a 36-year woman to buy the sneakers.

The youths initially tried to pay for the sneakers with $400 worth of cash but when the seller/victim seemed to question the authenticity of the bills, the teens just decided to swipe the kicks and absconded.

Four days later the two thieves were back in action, this time a 27-year old woman was the victim. A meeting was arranged under the pretense of buying another pair of Adidas. Instead of attempting to pass fake money, one of them tried on the shoes and returned them to the victim after which the 16-year old snatched them from her hands and ran off.

The arrested youngster is no stranger to law enforcement, having been arrested five times since 2017, one of which was when he beat a guy up for three dollars.
