Stupid Things People Do For Sneakers: VA sneaker seller gets robbed in basement

A youngster in VA found himself the victim of robbery when he attempted to sell his Playoff PE Air Jordan XIs.

According to police, a youth made arrangements to sell a pair of Air Jordan XI to a friend, but at the meeting, the friend and another individual threatened him and took the sneakers.

Sgt James Hartman of the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office had more detail to offer, saying the after negotiating the price of the sneakers with his “friend.” The victim met his friend at the friend’s home tp conduct the transaction. Once inside, the “friend” led the seller/victim to the basement.

The victim then stated that he was approached by a man in a black hoodie and a red bandana covering his face. Sgt Hartman said the victim was threatened and the shoes were taken. The seller was eventually able to leave the residence and then ,along with his father, reported the incident to police.

Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant on the “friend’s” residence and located the shoes in question. Two suspects were subsequently taken into custody, one being a juvenile. That juvenile, a 16-year-old, was charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. The other suspect, 19-year-old Keshaun James Brittain ws charged with robbery, abduction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The juvenile is being held at a regional juvenile detention center, according to Sgt. Hartman. Brittain is was held on a $2,500 secured bond at the Faquier County Adult Detention Center.

 “This a good time to remind citizens of our internet purchase and exchange locations in Fauquier County. All locations are under 24/7 video monitor in well-lighted public areas.”

The referenced locations are Vint Hill at the Village Green Community Center (4235 Aiken Drive, Warrenton), in Warrenton at the Sheriff’s Office (78 West Lee St.), in Bealeton at the library (10877 Willow Dr.) and in Marshall at the Marshall Community Center (4133-A Rectortown Road).
