Tuskegee 27, Edward Waters (Fla.) 26

Edward Waters scored a touchdown with 20 seconds left but missed its extra point and Tuskegee escaped with a 27-26 win over Edward Waters College Friday from Jacksonville, Fla. The victory pushed Skegee’s win streak to four straight and sets up a pivotal SIAC Western Division clash with Miles College next Saturday.

Savannah State 53, Fort Valley State 24

A new era has dawned over Savannah State football—one that reflects the program’s glory days.

With a dominating performance in their final Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) game of the season, the 2019 Savannah State football team earned the programs first winning season since 1998, and the first undefeated conference run since 1989.

The Dragons offense led the charge on Saturday afternoon putting up 446 total offensive yards to the Marauders’ 179 leading Lane to their first conference victory over Central State, 36-10.

Albany State 21, Morehouse 15

The Golden Rams of Albany State University got the job done on Senior Day, knocking off the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers 21-15 on Saturday afternoon. The victory sets Albany State’s overall mark at 6-3, 5-1 in SIAC play.

Miles 17, Kentucky State 0

Needing a win to stay in the hunt for the SIAC Western Division title, Miles locked down Kentucky State in a 17-0 win on Senior Day at Sloan-Alumni Stadium.

The Golden Bears (7-2, 4-1 SIAC West) held the Thorobreds (5-3, 2-3) to 152 yards of total offense in pitching their first shutout since they beat KSU 35-0 in 2017 (23 games).

Benedict 31, Clark Atlanta 7

After a season full of almost and close calls, the Benedict College Tigers unleashed a season-high 214 yards rushing and defeated Clark Atlanta University 31-7 for their first victory of the season on Saturday afternoon at Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

The Tigers ran 46 running plays and attempted 14 passes (completing nine) on the game, for an average of 4.7 yards per carry. Raheem Jennings led the way with 86 yards on nine carries, including a 58-yard touchdown run. Jayden McCloud added 85 yards on 14 carries.
