Zach Randolph is calling it a career.
Z-Bo told TMZ Sports that playing in the Association is no longer on his mind.
Randolph did not appear in one game in 2018-19 and the Dallas Mavericks waived him in February after acquiring the vet in a trade with the Kings.
Z-Bo was drafted back in 2001 out of Michigan State by the Portland Jail Blazers, where he would spend his first six seasons. In his time as a Blazer, he averaged 16.0 points and 7.7 rebounds per game , including his career high 43-point outburst. He would be traded to the New York Knicks in the summer of 2007 and in his first campaign with the Knicks, Randolph played in 69 games and averaged 17.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest. Eleven games into the following season Randolph was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. In the 39 games he appeared in with the club in that 2008-09 season, Z-Bo averaged 21.3 points and 10.3 rebounds.
In the summer of 2009, Randolph was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Quentin Richardson. It was here that he would rise to his most prominent as a key cog of those “grit and grind” Grizzlies teams of the 2010’s. It would be during his time in Memphis that Randolph would garner his two All-Star selections (2010 and 2013) and make the All -NBA Third Team ( 2010-11) and help shape the franchise into the tough perennial playoff contenders they were during that time.
Randolph ends his career with averages of 16.6 points and 9.1 rebounds.
