Conner Frankamp is the latest newcomer for Zenit Saint-Petersburg, the team announced Monday. He inked a two-year contract. His move to the Russian Turkish Airlines EuroLeague team was reported by Eurohoops.

Frankamp, 25, is coming off a solid season at UCAM Murcia. The former player of both Kansas and Wichita State in the NCAA averaged 15.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per ACB match as his side narrowly missed a playoffs berth.

“I have the chance to play at the highest level, in EuroLeague,” he said upon inking his new contract, per the press release, “We have a great team, which is important for such a competition. I know Zenit is a very respected team and an excellent organization, and that last season they reached the EuroLeague playoffs. I was flattered to receive an offer from such a club and accepted almost without hesitation.”

“We are glad Conner Frankamp decided to continue his career with us,” noted head coach Xavi Pascual, “He is a young player with great potential to improve his game. He is a player with a good mentality.”

The American point guard launched his pro career in Bulgaria and moved to Greece, before heading to Spain. The upward trend continues with the opportunity to debut in the EuroLeague next season.

Zenit, preparing for the 2021-22 season, has already picked up Jordan Loyd and brought back Sergey Karasev. From the 2020-21 squad, Arturas Gudaitis, Mateusz Ponitka and Alex Poythress have re-signed.
