From the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference:
Redshirt sophomore guard Jesse Zarzuela of Coppin State has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, it was announced on Tuesday. Zarzuela’s teammate, redshirt junior forward Tyree Corbett, is the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman guard T.J. Madlock of South Carolina State is the MEAC Rookie of the Week.
Zarzuela (G, 6-3, 170, r-So., Houston, Texas) averaged 26.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in the Eagles’ games versus St. Bonaventure and Cornell. He shot 47.5 percent from the floor, 40.9 percent from 3-point range and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.
Corbett (F, 6-7, 180, r-Jr., Philadelphia, Pa.) averaged 11.0 rebounds and 20.0 points against St. Bonaventure and Cornell with double-doubles in both contests. He had 12 rebounds to go along with 23 points against Cornell after garnering 10 rebounds with 17 points in the St. Bonaventure contest.
Madlock (G, 6-3, 190, Fr., Memphis, Tenn.) scored the winning 3-point buzzer-beating shot with 0.6 seconds left against South Florida, lifting the Bulldogs to a 65-64 upset, their first victory over a Div. I opponent of the season. For the game, Madlock scored 15 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists.

D’Marco Baucum (Delaware State) averaged 10.0 points and 8.0 rebounds over three games, including a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double versus Liberty.
Myles Carter (Delaware State) averaged 13.3 points over three games.
Elijah Hawkins (Howard) averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in games against Mount St. Mary’s and American.
Steve Settle III (Howard) had six points, four rebounds and three steals against Mount St. Mary’s.
Chace Davis (Maryland Eastern Shore) averaged 9.5 points and 2.0 rebounds during the past week.
Nathaniel Pollard Jr. (Maryland Eastern Shore) had nine points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots in the Hawks’ lone contest of the week.
Jalen Hawkins (Norfolk State) averaged 15.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in games against UNC-Wilmington and Hampton.
Eric Boone (North Carolina Central) posted averages of 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals against USC-Upstate and UNC-Ashville.
Justin Wright (North Carolina Central) averaged 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.0 assists in three games, his best being 13 points with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in a contest against The Citadel.
Omer Croskey (South Carolina State) had 14 points with five rebounds against South Florida.
Jemel Davis (South Carolina State) had 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots against South Florida, the team’s lone game.
