From Southern University Media Relations: DALLAS, TX —  Glendon McDaniel threw three touchdown passes, two of them in a decisive third quarter and Southern defeated Texas Southern in the State Fair Showdown on Saturday. After the score was tied at 7 at halftime, McDaniel connected with Jamar Washington for 35 yards and Hunter Register for 31 yards and a 21-7 Jaguars lead heading into the fourth quarter. According to The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, the Golden State Warriors have waived forward Alphonso McKinnie and will retain Marquese Chriss with that created opening. Yesterday the New Orleans Pelicans announced that rookie sensation Zion Williamson would not play in the team’s preseason finale today against the New York Knicks due knee soreness.
