The Tigers (8-19, 4-13 OVC) had three players score in double figures, led by Saniah Parker, who had 15 points. Erin Martin tacked on 11 points, eight rebounds and two steals off the bench and Aaniya Webb helped out with 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals. image via TSU Basketball Courtesy Tennessee State Athletics  — Ronald Jessamy finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Knute Wood had a career-best 19 points as the Tennessee State men’s basketball team defeated UT Martin, 86-75, on Tuesday evening at the Elam Center.  The Tigers (14-14, 10-7) had five players score in double figures, led by Wood, who had 19 points. Carlous Williams helped out with 15 points and six rebounds. The Tennessee State Lady were able to force 23 SIUE turnovers as they were able to defeat the Cougars 77-58 Saturday afternoon.  Tennessee State scored first taking an early 2-0 lead on Lyric Cole’s jumper. The no.1 defensive team in the Ohio Valley Conference, Eastern Illinois, held Tennessee State to sub 40% in three of four quarters as the Panthers handily defeated Tennessee State 69-49 Thursday night.  The Panthers controlled the first quarter, trailing in the period. The Tennessee State men’s basketball team led for most of the game and was able to get a needed OVC win 84-76.  TSU jumped out to an early 8-0 lead on Carlous Williams’ three-point shot at the 17:56 mark. Tennessee State turned in a strong performance on the glass, turned 19 WIU turnovers into 33 points, and scored 39 points off the bench in an 87-69 defeat of Western Illinois Thursday night.  Although the Tennessee State didn’t have their shooting eye in the first half, shooting just 38.9 in the game’s opening half, the Tigers hit the glass and turned defense into offense.
