Micheal Avenatti sentenced to 2.5 years for Nike extortion attempt

From ESPN news services NEW YORK — A New York judge sentenced California lawyer Michael Avenatti to 2½ years in prison Thursday for trying to extort up to $25 million from Nike by threatening to use his popularity to damage the company’s reputation. University of Hartford athletes sue school to block move from D-1 to D-III

From the AP HARTFORD, Conn. — A group of athletes and student managers at the University of Hartford has filed a federal lawsuit in attempt to block the school from downgrading its athletic programs from Division I to Division III. Spectators banned from Tokyo games amidst COVID-19 spike
